But mostly we end up not donating. We are theoretical towards it but not practical and trust me I felt the same like today.

You have fear, I have fear for the needles. So was it today until I made myself determined to donate. Well I had quite many opportunities to donate, be it donation camps or voluntarily doing, but somehow I was reluctant to do so as I mentioned the fears. But this fine day I decided, I got a call from my senior, and his friends relative needed blood which is not old but freshly taken out for less than 24 hours. So I went and the staff who was present did formalities of names adresss etc.

After that took sample and after 10-15 minutes, I was on the recliner donating blood. I felt worried but it was hard to press the softball but after 6-10 minutes I have given a unit blood. He then took it out sealed. Stick bandage on my left hand where he put the niddle blood. Gave apy a small appy and I moved back home.

Lets Talk about some benefits of Donating Blood

Donating blood can benefit you emotionally and physically like,
-reduce stress
-improve your emotional well-being
-benefit your physical health

-provide a sense of belonging and reduce isolation

Lower Risk of Heart Disease, blood donation may lower the risk of heart disease and heart attack. This is because it reduces the blood’s viscosity.

A 2013 study found that regular blood donation significantly lowered the mean total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, protecting against cardiovascular disease. Researchers note this is consistent with findings in other studies which found that blood donors had a lower risk of heart disease and heart attack. Donating blood regularly may also lower iron stores. This may reduce the risk of heart attack. High body iron stores are believed to increase the risk of heart attack.
